Workshop entitled “Practical Challenges in the Collaboration of Research Groups & Businesses” in Patras

09.10.2018

On Thursday 11 October 2018, the National Documentation Centre (EKT), in collaboration with the University of Patras and the Patras IQ Knowledge Transfer Exhibition, will organise a workshop on the challenges faced by universities and research centres in their cooperation with businesses. The Workshop is organised in the framework of Enterprise Europe Network-Hellas, with a presentation by Fay Orfanou, technology transfer consultant, head of the Innovation Networking Unit of EKT.

The Workshop is addressed to researchers and business executives who collaborate with research teams in the context of their research and development (R&D) activities.

The workshop will highlight in a codified way and with practical examples the issues that research teams and businesses are called upon to address in their cooperation, making use of the specific knowledge and experience of EKT’s Innovation Networking Unit.

In addition, the aim is to highlight the issues that arise in research commercialisation collaborations, when a company agrees with a research team to exploit research results in its production: from the simplest form of collaboration where researchers offer their expertise to the company in an advisory capacity, to the creation of new products or even the creation of spin-off companies with the participation of researchers and the company.

The workshop will be implemented in an interactive way, seeking the active participation of the attending researchers and business executives. The aim is to support future collaborations between Researchers and Enterprises for the exploitation of research knowledge and to this end the Workshop will seek to clearly highlight the main concerns so that participants can gain practical and applicable knowledge.

Participation is free and you can pre-register here.
