Central Hackathon: a competition for entrepreneurship in Central Greece

The Central Hackathon is a three-day entrepreneurship and innovation competition that will take place in the city of Lamia on 11, 12 and 13 May. The scope of the competition is the development of pilot applications and services (apps & web solutions) for public administration and Smart Regions.

As part of the implementation of its plan for the promotion of innovative business ideas and the development of new technologies, the Region organizes the “Central Hackathon” competition to be held on 11, 12 and 13 May 2018 at the new bioclimatic building of DEYA Lamia, focusing on the development of apps and web solutions for public administration and smart cities.

The aim of the Region of Central Greece is, during the competition, the teams that will take part, to develop a new application for e-government, smart cities, tourism, the environment or agri-food. In order to implement and develop their ideas, during the three-day event, the teams will have the opportunity to talk to expert mentors from the fields of technology and business and present their idea to the public and the jury.

The winning ideas will be awarded, with prizes for the top three winners being €3000, €1500 and €1000 respectively. In addition, they will be given the opportunity to put their idea into practice through the functions of the Region of Central Greece.
