The certainty that the next Facebook or Google could well be created even in countries under economic crisis, such as Greece, was expressed by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. As he says, intelligent people exist everywhere and the tools for software development are also ubiquitous, so “of course” the next company could be founded in countries like Greece, creating, for example in the field of communication, something capable of “conquering the world – if it’s good”.<\/p>\n

Steve Wozniak, in an interview with APPE-MPA, explained why he is no longer afraid of the rapid progress of artificial intelligence, contrary to the fears he had expressed in the recent past, sharing similar positions of the late physicist Stephen Hawking and the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk.<\/p>\n

He believes that the challenges and problems that are expected to emerge in the next decade in the technology-society relationship may take decades to correct – although, as he says, “the world is wide open to correcting them”.<\/p>\n

According to Steve Wozniak, at a time when scandals such as Cambridge Analytica and Facebook have emerged in the global debate, the situation is increasingly resembling a game of “Rooting for Your Home Team”. He declares himself non-political, explaining that he has adopted this principle since the age of 20, when he decided not to vote at all.<\/p>\n

The interview with Steve Wozniak (also known by the nicknames “Woz”, “The Woz Wizard” and “iWoz”), was conducted in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, on the sidelines of the International Government Communication Forum 2018, held on March 28-29 in the city, under the patronage of Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi (Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi).<\/p>\n
