The primary mission of the Ministry of Economy and Development is the strategic and operational planning, programming and implementing of the country’s development policy with the aim of promoting competitiveness, productivity, entrepreneurship, an outward-orientation and an innovation economy, as well as the strengthening of the economy, society and regional cohesion. To achieve these goals, the Ministry has set up the Development Council in recognition of the need to develop a long-term national strategy.
The General Secretariat for Strategy & Private Investment is responsible for co-ordinating the other ministries involved. It documents the policies related to the initiative and remains apprised of the initiative’s development by being in constant communication with the Management Team of EKT. In addition, it handles general issues which may present themselves when Greek degree holders living and working abroad ‘connect’ with the Greek economy.
